Back in 1997, Blizzard Entertainment released a really cool dark action-role playing game named Diablo on the PC. You moved around a small village and the evil dungeons beneath it – hacking and slashing away at the denizens of evil, including Diablo himself. It was a simple game and very enjoyable and spawned an authorized add-on and a sequel in 2000 (and another add-on)
Yesterday, they announced Diablo III. So excited! This game series killed several mice with the sheer amount I played them. I have high hopes for this latest addition.
Back in 1998, Blizzard released StarCraft. It is a Science Fiction Real-Time Strategy game with three races: Terrans, Zerg and the Protoss all warring for dominance in the far future. They also released StarCraft: Brood War addon. I’ve always had a soft spot for Sci-Fi games, even back to my Commodore 64 and ELITE. This was no different.
Then there is StarCraft II. Originally slated for this year, they’ve pushed it back to next. Boo hiss! I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of South Koreans cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. You have to understand, this is a ‘big thing’ ™ as they have TV events of online matches there even!
Patience, Young Padwan…
