What is this Visuals stuff anyhow?
VJ’s (Video Jockeys or Video Performance Artists) work with video, generally at places like music clubs, outdoor parties, or special corporate and artistic events. They can use one or more computers, video mixers and various forms of inputs, be they cameras or DVD players. My take on being a VJ is matching the music that is playing to concepts, colours and intensity. Unlike a DJ, a VJ tends to be on all night, so that could be as long as 7 hours. I love doing it!
I have been working with various groups and collectives for a few years now, most recently my lovely friends at Shakti Collective. Sometimes I work alone, other times I mix together with my friends.
